About Us
Founded in 1985, Architectural Glass &: Glazing, Inc. (AG&G), is a family owned window and doors business operated by a wife, father, and three sons and blessed with an outstanding sales and installation team. From the beginning we have specialized in educating customers with truthful information about our own and various other window and door products, to arm them with enough data to make intelligent choices of their own. This approach, combined with a sophisticated, skilled, and highly trained installation and service team, has worked very well for AG&G since our inception more than twenty years ago.
The business initially began from a carport but has operated in three other locations along the way. We now operate from the largest and, according to our architect, builder, and homeowner customers, most beautiful showroom in Arizona, with approximately 5,000 square feet of full size window and door displays that are updated on a regular basis.
In 1985, mill finish, single pane aluminum windows and doors were “state of the art” everywhere in Arizona. With a background in the manufacture and sales of windows and doors, we decided to start our own business and did so with an aluminum product with dual pane glass, a bronze or white exterior finish, and a structurally sound frame system. Vinyl windows were highly suspect and often did not maintain structural integrity once installed. Our initial objective was the new construction market, and we offered both sales and installation of our windows and doors, a practice that had not been done solely by one company prior to AG&G.
Always looking for new challenges and the expansion of window and installation knowledge, our first major commercial project was the removal of all steel casement units in the University Heights Elementary School, a conversion from a school to an apartment building. We were told that this was the first project of its kind anywhere in the country, and one of the major concerns was to provide window units with a large enough to allow emergency egress (escape) from the apartments... A natural offshoot of this project was the development of sound procedures for the replacement of windows and doors in residential homes. In 1987 and 1988, AG&G became the first company in Tucson to offer both new construction and window replacement programs employing both wood or aluminum products.
Throughout the years we have replaced windows and doors for several University of Arizona dormitories, the National Guard, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Fort Huachuca the Benedictine Monastery, the gallery Clubhouse at Dove Mountain, and many other locations far and wide.
As for new construction projects, installation of windows and doors, including monstrous multi-slide units and picture windows, has been accomplished all across Southern Arizona
